AM/NS India Strengthens Community Healthcare with Mobile Medical Unit in Gandhidham
Gandhidham, June 16, 2025: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), a joint venture between two of the world’s largest steel manufacturers, ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, continues to strengthen its commitment to community welfare through impactful initiatives. In collaboration with HelpAge India, AM/NS Gandhidham has launched a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to provide essential healthcare services directly to the doorstep of villagers in the periphery of Gandhidham.
Equipped with a sphygmomanometer BP machine, weighing machine, and other state-of-the-art medical facilities, the MMU ensures access to preliminary healthcare and essential medicines for people of all age groups at no cost. A qualified MBBS doctor, along with a pharmacist and an attendant, will be available to serve the community six days a week. Villagers from Bhimasar, Tappar, Varsana, Pasuda, Gopalnagar, Varsamedi, Modvadar, Ajapar, Khara Pasvariya, Mota Pasvariya, Padana, Nandgam, and Yashoda Dham will benefit from this initiative.
The MMU was flagged off by Amresh Rathore, Unit Head – AM/NS Gandhidham, Jay Kumar Sharma, Head – Electrical, Dharani Ethiraj, Head – HR & Admin, Vinod Kashyap, Lead – Legal & Liaisoning, Gulab Chouhan, Head – IR & Legal Compliance, and Dr. Parth Ahir, Medical Officer – Primary Health Centre, Bhimasar. CSR & HR teams of AM/NS Gandhidham, along with senior officials, were also present on the occasion.
The initiative focuses on promoting wellness and preventive healthcare by bridging the gap between medical services and underserved communities. By bringing essential healthcare directly to villagers, the Mobile Medical Unit ensures access to medical support for those who need it the most. This effort highlights AMNS India’s dedication to sustainable development and social responsibility, making a positive impact on the lives of people in surrounding communities.
