Odisha Parab brought the Vibrant Culture, Cuisine, Crafts and Tourism Experiences of Odisha to Ahmedabad
Dates: 21st – 23rd March 2026 | Venue: Gujarat University Convention and Exhibition Centre, Ahmedabad
Odisha, often described as one of India’s most culturally vibrant State, is a land where ancient traditions, artistic excellence and natural beauty coexist in harmony. From its classical dance traditions and vibrant folk culture to exquisite handicrafts, handlooms and a distinctive culinary legacy, Odisha reflects the depth and diversity of India’s cultural heritage. For this Smt. Pravati Parida (hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha) gave information.
To bring the spirit of Odisha to western India, the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture and with active participation from the Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department, ORMAS, ADISHA, and Mission Shakti, organised Odisha Parab at Ahmedabad, a three-day cultural showcase from 21st to 23rd March 2026 at the Gujarat University Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Following the success of earlier editions at Bengaluru and Guwahati, the Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha, is bringing its flagship cultural and tourism showcase Odisha Parab to Ahmedabad. The initiative is part of a broader national outreach aimed at presenting Odisha’s experience-driven tourism, cultural richness and creative traditions to audiences across India.
The event aims to present an immersive experience of Odisha’s living traditions, artistic expressions and tourism potential by bringing together culture, cuisine, crafts, handlooms, and destination showcases under one roof.
A key highlight of the event will be live craft demonstrations by master artisans from Odisha, offering visitors the opportunity to witness traditional craftsmanship in real time. Dedicated craft and handloom stalls will showcase Odisha’s renowned textiles and handicrafts, including handwoven fabrics, traditional motifs, and GI-tagged products. Visitors will also have the opportunity to interact with artisans and learn about the heritage and techniques behind each creation.
The culinary segment will present an equally engaging experience through curated food stalls and live cuisine demonstrations, showcasing the rich diversity of Odia cuisine. Visitors will be able to savour authentic dishes reflecting Odisha’s coastal, tribal, and traditional food cultures, along with celebrated Odia desserts such as Chhena Poda.

Odisha Parab Ahmedabad will also feature a vibrant line-up of classical, folk, and tribal cultural performances, capturing the rhythm, storytelling, and martial traditions of the State. Performances such as Odissi, Gotipua, Sambalpuri dance, Paika Akhada, Ghumura, Dhemsa, Chhau, and Ghuduki will offer audiences a dynamic glimpse into Odisha’s rich performing arts heritage.
In addition to cultural showcases, the event will highlight Odisha’s tourism potential, introducing visitors to the State’s diverse travel experiences, from heritage and spirituality to wildlife, beaches, and eco-tourism destinations.
Special initiatives including tourism outreach interactions and engagement with travel trade stakeholders will also be organised as part of the event to strengthen tourism linkages.
Envisioned as more than just a cultural festival, Odisha Parab, Ahmedabad serves as a platform for cultural exchange, dialogue, and celebration, strengthening connections between Odisha and Gujarat while promoting Odisha as a vibrant destination for culture, crafts, cuisine, and tourism.
